Captain Burke Park is a popular Brisbane park situated under the Story Bridge on Holman Street in the suburb of Kangaroo Point, Brisbane. The wide variety of facilities available at the Captain Burke Park along with the panoramic vistas out across the Brisbane River and of the Story Bridge are the reason for the popularity of the park throughout the week.
Facilities that are located at the Captain Burke Park include a fun playground, covered picnic tables and barbeque facilities, small beach and a jetty for fishing.
The playground at the Captain Burke Park is uncovered and based on a partly sunken steam ship theme with climbing apparatus, a play hut with ropes, ladders and a slide, a play rowboat, swings and a merry-go-round. The covered picnic tables and barbeque facilities can be found along the Brisbane River not far from the playground area.
Fishing at Captain Burke Park can be done from the small beach or off the jetty around to the East of the park.
On the Western side of the park the popular Brisbane Jazz Club is also located.
Parking is available at the on-street car park along Holman Street which can accommodate around 40 cars. Buses regularly service Holman Street and the Holman Street Ferry Terminal is adjacent to the park providing easy access to Captain Burke Park by public transport.
