Centenary Theatre Group Schedule
Community Voice – June Release 2012
May ended after a successful run of the world premiere of Perve. Thank you to all who came and said so many nice things to us about the play.
We’re now madly preparing for the opening of our theatre restaurant, Death & Deceit on the Nile on 14 July.
We’re building sets – we’ve got the sarcophagus – rehearsing madly and preparing dossiers to give to audience members so that they can work out who the murderer is from the clues cunningly provided by the cast (we’re working from the script – I know that’s cheating but someone has to know in advance whodunnit). But we’re not telling. Under any circumstances – oh is that some bribe money in the dossier …… ?????
We’ve picked the menu (all three courses). Tested (and tasted) the recipes. We’re practically set really – it’s going to be a lot of fun.
Tables seat 8 and tickets are $40 a head – which includes dinner & a show. And the theatre restaurant always starts at 6pm. Bring your friends – make a night of it – we’re licensed, and we’re right next to the Chelmer Railway Station.
But bookings are essential for catering purposes – book on-line at www.centenarytheatre.com.au.
We also have an audition coming up in June – on 24 June to be precise, at 1.30pm for Breaker Morant.
The original script of this Australian classic was first performed in 1977. Ken Ross has since updated his original script, and we are very honoured to be the first theatre company in Australia to perform the new version.
We’re looking for 14 men to perform in this classic piece, which goes on in September 2012.
We’re very pleased to say that Ken Ross will be attending the audition on the 24th, so we’re not allowed to make a mess of it.
Audition details can be found on this site in the diary of upcoming events, or by clicking here.
Until next time,
Margaret Bell President For the Centenary Theatre Group Inc
