Animal Storage Jars

Recycle jelly and sauce jars to hold all your little toys, item, and coins. Give your glass a new lease on life by making these adorable animal buddy jars to display in your room!

Supplies

  • Clean, empty glass jars
  • Felt
  • Pom poms
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Wiggly eyes
  • White acrylic paint
  • Construction Paper

Instructions

  1. Remove lid from jar and paint with a layer of paint and allow to dry. (See photo.)
  2. Line the top of the lid with glue and around the outside rim.
  3. Place lid, glue side down, onto a piece of felt.
  4. Wrap felt around lid and rim and hold snugly until glue is dry
  5. Trim any the excess felt.
  6. Fill the jar with whatever items desired.
  7. Return the felted lid to the jar.
  8. Cut additional animal features from construction paper.
  9. If creating a cat or dog, cut out long thin strips of felt for the whiskers
  10. Glue the facial parts in place.
  11. Use pom poms for noses.
  12. Glue on wiggly eyes.

Suggestions

  • Make human faces instead
  • Use jars from jelly, mayonnaise, pickles and other condiments.
  • Use hot glue for attaching the felt

What an awesome idea! Definitely have to try this out… I have two children who are always hard to keep entertained.
