Growl Theatre is returning to the stage for the second time in 2012 with their new production “A Night With John Maddison Morton”, an evening featuring two of his most famous one-act plays.
Growl Theatre – September 2012
Rehearsals are well underway and we will be hitting the stage in late September: 27th, 28th and 29th of September.
John Maddison Morton was a prolific Victorian comic writer born in 1811, who wrote many one-act farces. His work is hilarious, but rarely performed today, so Growl Theatre decided to bring his work to the Brisbane stage.
The two plays we’ll be performing are Box and Cox and After A Storm, Comes A Calm
Box and Cox was famously adapted into a one-act comic opera called “Cox and Box” in 1866 by F. C. Burnand and the composer Arthur Sullivan (from Gilbert & Sullivan).
Growl Theatre will be again performing at Windsor State School Hall. Best entrance to the hall is from Constitution Rd in Windsor. Doors open 7pm, show starts at 7:30pm. There will be a bar open before the show and during interval where you can purchase drinks and nibbles.
Tickets are on sale now. $15 Adults, $12 Concession. Please buy your tickets online at www.growltheatre.org.au/buy-tickets/

Growl Theatre is still hoping to perform Stepping Out in 2013, however we just need to practice our tap dancing a little more and find a venue suitable for rehearsals! Stay tuned for more on that one.
