Wellington Point reserve is located in the suburb of the same name, Wellington Point in the council district of Redlands City about 20km East of Brisbane’s CBD.
The reserve is a popular attraction for both locals and visitors from further afield, with great barbeque facilities throughout the reserve, covered picnic tables, public toilets, children’s playground and more. Visitors can also be seen stretched out on beach towels or in camp chairs around the reserve during summer, soaking up the sun and enjoying the fresh sea breezes blowing in across Moreton Bay.
The reserve also offers a popular boat ramp and provides a great place for sailing, wind and kite surfing with the bay protected by both Moreton and North Stradbroke Islands.
Wellington Point Reserve also provides a unique experience of being able to walk out to King Island at low tide along a natural sand bar. A popular attraction for visitors with a continual trail of people going to and from King Island during the summer months. Out on King Island, people can be seen relaxing and enjoying the uninterrupted views across to Moreton Island and watching the sailing boats in the bay.
If you are looking for a relaxing day out or a day to catch up with friends and family over a barbeque, then Wellington Point is well worth a visit. If you are planning on using the barbeque facilities and picnic tables then it is highly recommended that you head out early as Wellington Point is very popular on a sunny day.
