Hawthorne Park is a popular park located between Riding and Hawthorne Roads in the suburb of Hawthorne, Brisbane. The park is home to the Morningside Panthers AFL Club, and the two football fields encompass a majority of the park.
Located along the Eastern section of the park is a large, public fully fenced playground that is one of the more popular in the area and with the array of play equipment for children, can be seen why. The children will love this playground with the hammock swing, a side-less slide called a ‘slalom-glider’, a sway fun, sandpit and more to keep them entertained for hours.
For the adults there are picnic tables and barbeque facilities around the playground as well as sitting benches inside the fenced enclosure. The toilets are unfortunately located on the opposite side of the park along Hawthorne Road being the only downside to the playground.
The pathway that rings the park is also another popular drawcard to the park with walker and joggers found throughout the day exercising.
If travelling to the park by car, there is on-street parking on the adjacent streets around Hawthorne Park. A bus stop is found adjacent to the park on Riding Road providing easy access via public transport. For more information on public transport please visit Translink.
