The Tarragindi Recreation Reserve is a large area of land set aside in the suburb of Tarragindi, Brisbane. The reserve is split into a Northern and Southern section by Cracknell Road. Both sections are different and are described below
South Section of Tarragindi Recreation Reserve
The Southern portion of Tarragindi Recreation Reserve stretches from Cracknell Road through to the back of the houses on Andrew Ave and has access via Lawrie Street, Fernvale Road, Newington Street, Shaftesbury Street and Laura Street. The area is pre-dominantly forest reserve with a shared pathway running North to South from Lawrie Street to Laura Street. There is also an un-marked dirt trail in the reserve and a walking path leading from the shared pathway to Newington Street.
The South Junior Rugby Union club is also located in the section and is situated off Shaftesbury Street and includes a full size rugby field. Next to the rugby field is a small playground with a play hut, see-saw and other equipment.
Hidden away in the along the walking path in the forest area is also a small bmx track with jumps.
North Section of Tarragindi Recreation Reserve
The Northern portion of Tarragindi Recreation Reserve is located between Cracknell Road, Sexton Street and Laura Street and follows Norman Creek. The area compromises of large open areas for kids to run and also includes a large dog off-leash area, a fitness circuit that follows the shared pathway, a small playground, half-court basketball court, picnic tables and barbeque facilities.
The playground includes two slides, climbing spider web and play hut under a shade sail.
If heading to the region by car, parking is available on most of the adjacent streets to the park and there are multiple bus stops around the reserve including one adjacent to the park on Cracknell Road. For more information on public transport please visit Translink.
Facilities At Tarragindi Recreation Reserve
| The Southern portion of the reserve is heavily forested and there are trees scattered around the Northern portion providing shade. | |
| There is a shared walkway through the reserve running North to South for cycling, walking and jogging. | |
| There are two playground in the reserve. One next to the South Junior Rugby Club in the Southern section and a slight larger playground in the Northern section off Laura Street. | |
| There is one bbq and a covered picnic table near the Northern playground. | |
| Parking is available on the adjacent streets to the park. There is also a car park located at the South Junior Rugby Club. | |
| There are multiple bus stops around the reserve including one adjacent to the park on Cracknell Road. For more information on public transport visit Translink. | |
| The Tarragindi Recreation Reserve is home to the South Junior Rugby Club and a full sized rugby field. | |
| There is a half-court basketball court in the Northern section of the reserve. | |
| There is a large dog off-leash zone in the Northern section of the reserve. It includes sitting benches. | |
| There is a fitness circuit along the shared pathway in the Northern section of the park. It includes own body weight workout equipment. |
