Homestead Park is located along Atherton Circuit in the suburb of Forest Lake, Brisbane. The park is named ‘Homestead’ in reference to a two storey home known as ‘Archerfield Homestead’ that was built by Henry Farley in the late 1870’s and later destroyed by fire in the 1930s.
The park also has another historic significance with a large Kauri Pine Tree in the middle of the park which was reputedly planted by the Duke of Windsor in 1901.
The community facilities at Homestead Park include a covered sitting areas, a full sized tennis court and a playground. The playground is based on an obstacle theme and includes a play hut, climbing equipment, flying fox and more.
Parking is available in small car parks situated along Atherton Circuit and the nearest bus stop is approximately 700 metres from the park near the intersection of Homestead Way and Forest Lake Boulevard. For more information on public transport please visit Translink.
