Decker Park is located at the intersection of Hornibrook Highway and Deagon Deviation and along Twentyfifth Avenue in the suburb of Brighton, in the far North of Brisbane. The park is a well featured park and with its location on the Bay and cool breezes makes it a popular destination for picnickers on the weekends and public holidays.
The facilities at the park include covered picnic tables along with barbeques (both wood fired and electric) which are scattered around the park, a dog off-leash area, public toilets and a descent sized playground.
The dog off-leash area includes sitting benches and a covered picnic table along with plenty of fun dog training equipment like small hurdles, tunnels, ramps and more.
Children will enjoy the large mostly shade sail covered playground area at Decker Park which includes a climbing spider, a large fort like play structure with a slides, ramps and climbing equipment, a fun ship like play area with a captains wheel for the budding pirates. A small half-court basketball court is also located near the playground to keep the older kids entertained while having a barbeque.
At low tide a small beach area is exposed adjacent to the park and with the shallow flat waters provides a perfect spot to introduce young children to the ocean or just to relax on the small sandy beach.
Parking is taken car of by either parking along Twentyfifth Avenue or at a car park at the end of the Avenue allowing parking for around 50 cars in total.
