JDU Expelled 11 Leaders

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) took steps to combat rebellion ahead of the state assembly elections by expelling 11 leaders, including four former MLAs, from its ranks for engaging in anti-party activities and defying its ideology; these individuals have now entered electoral contests against official National Democratic Alliance candidates in Bihar’s 243-member electoral polls.

Sudarshan Kumar joined the rebel camp after being denied a ticket from Dinara and joined up with Maheshwar Prasad Yadav as the 2020 election runner-up from Gaighat in Muzaffarpur. Additionally, Prabhat Kiran voiced her discontent publicly over Komal Singh receiving the party ticket instead of her.

Other expelled members include Gopal Mandal, an MLA from Bhagalpur who staged a sit-in outside CM’s residence after being denied a ticket and was eventually replaced by Bulo Mandal, an RJD turncoat. Another former MLA Sanjeev Shyam Singh will run for Gurua seat in Gaya as candidate of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party while Hemraj Singh contests from Katihar as an Independent.

Buses and trucks will incur anywhere between 140-700 charges depending on their weight.

Vehicle owners can conveniently pay their green taxes online using the mParivahan app, an all-in-one solution for RTO payments including green taxes. Available to download on smartphones, those without internet access may make payments by visiting their nearest RTO directly and paying in person; or bank accounts and credit cards.
